Jari Tables Series

OEO Studio has collaborated with Danish design brand Brdr. Krüger to create Jari, a signature collection of dining tables initially designed for Tokyo restaurant INUA by the team behind the world-renowned restaurant Noma in Copenhagen.

The collection, named Jari – a Japanese word meaning ‘pebbles’ – draws inspiration from natural beach pebbles that have been rounded by lapping waves over centuries.

With its subtle, asymmetric, organic shapes in a balance of their own, the Jari table series stands apart from conventional table design. The shapes of the table tops optimise the design by shortening the ends and shifting the balance towards the centre for a more intimate shared dining experience and a sense of social connectedness. Each table top features deep, double-rounded soft edges to offer a floating appearance and a tactile connection with nature.

The Jari tables series was awarded the title of ‘Best Furniture Design’ at the Danish Design Awards 2019.
